ATTRIBUTE PROCLAMATION
This model will be used during the Proclamation set (time to be determined)
Similar to the Going Deeper set, we want to take time to focus on what the scriptures say about the attributes of God. This meeting will revolve around the classic attributes documented through church history (his power, wisdom, knowledge, mercy, love, justice, goodness and many others) and how the scriptures describe these to us. It is our conviction that there is encounter with God to be discovered as we learn what He is like and choose to proclaim this back to Him and to ourselves in a corporate setting. We are eager to discover Him in new and deeper ways. And, we want to align ourselves with what we discover about Him. We want to “affectionately and joyfully agree with Him” in all that He is and does in our midst.
To this end, the prayer leader and worship leader will work through a pre-determined passage of scripture that best exemplifies one or more of the many attributes of God. We will give the singers opportunity to sing and prophecy over the passages and we will encourage all to engage as we lift our voices together, sing in tongues and worship what we know about Him. You can best participate by opening your bible to the passage being worked through and ask the Lord to show you more of what He is like. Pray the prayer of Ephesians 1:17 that God would give you the “spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you would know Him better” and look for what God will show you about who He is.
At the appropriate time, the prayer leader will invite all to participate by coming to the mic to proclaim their prayer around these themes. This is not a time to intercede for the needs of the city but to proclaim the character of God and what is on His mind as powerful and right over Winnipeg. We will be agreeing that He is correct in all His ways, He is powerful and wise enough to do it correctly and loving enough to do it for our best. And, we will be engaging in a place of faith in our prayers that will please the Lord and change our way of thinking.
